The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a formal travel advisory in light of the Baisakhi cultural celebrations organised by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) at Mehrauli Archaeological Park. Commuters should expect significant diversions and restrictions around South Delhi on Sunday.
Key Traffic Restrictions
To ensure smooth movement during the festivities, specific regulations will be in effect this Sunday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Heavy Vehicle Bans: Heavy and commercial vehicles are prohibited from heading towards Qutub Minar via:
- Anuvrat Marg through Phool Mandi.
- Crescent Road via Masjid Haji Ali Jan.
Restricted Access: No vehicles will be allowed to move from Kalka Das Marg toward the monument.

No Parking Zones: Parking or stopping any vehicle on Anuvrat Marg, Crescent Road or Kalka Das Marg is strictly forbidden.
Note: Illegally parked vehicles will be towed immediately and owners will face legal action.
Route Management And Parking
While major arteries like Aurobindo Marg and Anuvrat Marg will remain open for general transit, access to Qutub Minar will be restricted exclusively to Kalka Das Marg.
Designated Parking: Visitors must use only authorised parking lots on Kalka Das Marg in Mehrauli.
Emergency Vehicles: These restrictions do not apply to ambulances, fire services or police vehicles, which will have unimpeded access.
Commuter Recommendations
The Traffic Police advise the public to plan their journeys well in advance to avoid delays.
Public Transport: Residents are encouraged to use the Metro or buses to minimise congestion.
Critical Travel: Travelers heading to Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, New Delhi Railway Station or ISBT should account for extra travel time and avoid the Mehrauli-Qutub Minar circuit if possible.
