Delhi Weather Today: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has put the Delhi-NCR region on a yellow alert for two days, May 3 and 4, indicating possible rain activity accompanied by thunderstorms.
Heavy showers, thunderstorms and gusty winds hit parts of the national capital on Saturday. Delhi experienced an increase in both maximum and minimum temperatures on Saturday morning, two days after a spell of light to moderate rain lowered the temperature.
The sudden weather changes triggered in North India are due to an active western disturbance. Multiple states in north, west, and central India are experiencing varying conditions including cloudy skies, rain and thunderstorms.

As per IMD, weather conditions on Sunday and Monday are likely to be similar. "A spell of very light to light rain, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds of 30-40 km/h, gusting up to 50 km/h, is likely to occur on Sunday,” an IMD official told news agency PTI.
Delhi’s maximum temperature on Sunday is expected to settle around 37 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is likely to drop to 27 degrees Celsius. Thick clouds are likely to come up during the afternoon. Evening may witness gusty winds accompanied by rain. The wind speed can reach up to 30 to 50 kilometres per hour.

"A fresh western disturbance is expected to influence the region in the coming days, leading to a cyclonic circulation over adjoining areas. Light rain might occur in parts of the city for the next few days, and there is no possibility of a heatwave at least for the next week,” Mahesh Palawat, vice president of Skymet, told PTI.
