The Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) has instructed local authorities to consider acquiring land at eight locations along the Dwarka Expressway through land pooling, the e-Bhoomi portal, or transfer of development rights. The move aims to ensure seamless connectivity between master sector roads and the expressway, officials said.
To construct the Dwarka Expressway, the infrastructure development authority acquired a 150-meter-wide strip of land along a 19-km stretch in Gurugram. HSVP officials said there were initial plans to develop green areas on both sides of the expressway. However, due to financial constraints, the required land could not be acquired, and the project became entangled in various bottlenecks.
In an effort to resolve these issues, the Chief Administrator of the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) has directed local authorities to explore the possibility of acquiring eight remaining land pockets. The aim is to connect the master sector dividing roads with the Dwarka Expressway and to acquire two additional land pockets along the Central Peripheral Road (CPR) for constructing service roads and laying utility infrastructure.
“A committee headed by a land acquisition officer has been formed to examine the matter as directed and submit a final recommendation. The matter is currently under examination by the committee. It was also submitted that the details of un-acquired land falling within the alignment of sector master roads have been submitted to the DGTCP,” the official said, accordng to HT report.
According to the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) approximately 4.33 acres of land is still required to complete road connectivity in the following areas: Sector 99A, Sector 101, Sector 102, Sector 102A, Sector 103, Sector 106, Sector 109, Sector 110A, and one location near Sector 9.
HSVP officials stated that acquiring land at these eight key points will help connect the master sector roads to the Dwarka Expressway at surface level and facilitate the completion of drainage systems along the CPR.
GMDA officials noted that some of these roads have already been constructed and connected after receiving assurances from authorities. Now, landowners are seeking prompt compensation.
