Jagran Correspondent, Modinagar (Ghaziabad) | The factionalism among BJP officials that has been raging for the past two months has now become public, heating up the politics in Modinagar (Ghaziabad). It's being reported that veteran workers are upset with the district's top leadership due to the lack of representation in the organisation's district unit.
They allege that new and favoured candidates have been given positions, while those who have worked for the organisation for years have been sidelined. Many posts have been given to members of the same family.
BJP Leaders Filing Police Case Against Each Other
The resentment has now escalated and reached the police station. Whatever the issue, two cases have been filed by BJP officials against each other in the Modinagar police station in the past two months, highlighting the factionalism. This has brought the ongoing internal conflict within the organisation to the public.
Opposition party leaders are also benefiting from this. Furthermore, leaders vying for the BJP's Modinagar Assembly seat have begun capitalising on this issue.
Attempts To Boost MLA Ticket Desire
These local leader are attempting to boost their own chances by reporting all these activities to the BJP high command in the state. They have resorted to all means to score their political gains. It's also surprising that the four BJP workers named in the police complaint filed on Friday are from Modinagar, while the plaintiffs are residents of Loni.
These BJP workers from Modinagar claim to have been named in the complaint without any knowledge. They are now busy offering explanations to defend themselves and protect the party's image from being tarnished. However, the district's top leadership is currently failing to stop this factionalism. If this division in the organisation isn't resolved soon, an adverse impact cannot be ruled out on next year's assembly elections.
