Gurugram is set to get a major road infrastructure overhaul as Rs 386 crore has been approved for 5 elevated corridors and 7 flyovers in Cyber City.
With an aim to further strengthen the coordination between urban bodies and public representatives, Chief Executive Officer of Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) PC Meena held a meeting with the councillors of Gurugram and senior officials of GMDA and reviewed the ongoing and upcoming development works in the city.
Emphasising on collaborative governance, the GMDA CEO said that public representatives and GMDA officials will work as a joint team for the development of Gurugram.
He urged the councillors to share regular feedback in their respective wards, conduct joint field visits with officials and maintain constant coordination to resolve major civic issues.
Signal-free corridors will be built
GMDA Chief Executive Officer PC Meena said that administrative approval has been granted to 51 major road infrastructure projects costing approximately Rs 386 crore to strengthen connectivity and develop a seamless road network in the city. Of these, 12 works have been awarded, while 39 projects are currently in the award process.

Five elevated corridors and seven flyovers and underpasses are also planned. Major proposed projects include:
- NH-48 to Vatika Chowk
- Rajiv Chowk to Atul Kataria Chowk
- Mahavir Chowk to IFFCO Chowk
- Atul Kataria Chowk to Dwarka Expressway.
Monsoon preparedness, focus on drainage strengthening
During the meeting, councillors were also briefed on the drainage strengthening and de-silting work being carried out across the city before the monsoon. They were apprised of the progress of the Leg-4 drain, the Narsinghpur drain, the Tau Devi Lal Stadium drain, and the ongoing drainage projects in sectors 68–75, 76–80, and 112–115. GMDA officials stated that more than 200 personnel have been deployed for intensive de-silting work across the city.
Library and amphitheater will be built in the Biodiversity Park
The GMDA CEO also informed councillors about various initiatives being undertaken to strengthen sports and social infrastructure in the city. These include the upgrading of the Tau Devi Lal Stadium, the development of a sports belt along Sector 15, and the establishment of a library and amphitheatre at the Biodiversity Park in Sector 52A.
