Jagran correspondent | Kharkhoda (Sonipat): In a shocking incident, a 78-year-old man was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Haryana's Sonipat. The deceased man's son has been missing since the incident. The neighbours found the elderly man's body in his home and alerted the police. Upon learning about the incident, the Kharkhoda police arrived at the scene.

Post-Mortem Report Awaited

The cops called the forensic team to inspect the area thoroughly. The body will then be sent for the post-mortem examination. The police are questioning the nearby residents and relatives. The police say that the investigation is being conducted, taking all aspects into account, and a search for the suspect has been launched. Further action will be taken based on the post-mortem report and investigation.

Where Is His Son?

The accused son is identified as Brahmadas. He returned from a drug rehabilitation centre a month ago. Blood-stained clothes were recovered from the scene. The cops have registered a case of murder and have initiated an investigation.

Separate Cases

In a separate case, a 60-year-old man was killed by his son and two others in Faridkot district. The head was also found buried in the house. Police said that during a random check, they found the head buried inside the house on Tuesday and also recovered the rope that was used to strangulate him. “After the recovery of the head, we rounded up the family members and domestic help. Pipal and the other accused confessed to committing the crime during interrogation,” he said.

A case was registered under Sections 302 (murder), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Sadiq police station.

In another case, a drug de-addiction centre operator in Jhinjhauli village in the Kharkhoda area was beaten to death with sticks. Two employees working at the centre, along with six drug addicts undergoing treatment there, committed the crime. The accused took cash, records and the CCTV DVR from the center and fled in the operator's Thar and Verna vehicles along with six other drug addicts.
