Haryana State Song: Before the official launch of the 'state song of Haryana' in the assembly, a dispute erupted over the lyrics with individuals from Sonipat and Fatehabad asserting their rights in different capacities. A Haryana Assembly committee has selected a song sung by Shyam Sakha from Kurukshetra, however, it is yet to be released before assembly members during the Budget session in the Haryana Assembly.
The state assembly had constituted a committee under the chairmanship of Lakshman Yadav, the BJP MLA from Rewari, to finalise the state song. The committee received a total of 204 songs. After a meticulous selection process, the committee finalised ‘Jai Jai Jai Haryana’ as its official state song from the three shortlisted songs.
The committee members included Congress MLA from Jhajjar, Geeta Bhukkal; BJP MLA from Hansi, Vinod Bhayana; Congress MLA from Fatehabad, Balwan Singh Daulatpuria; and an INLD MLA from Rania, Aditya Devi Lal.
A three-minute song penned by Balkishan Sharma from Panipat proudly showcases Haryana's rich agricultural and food heritage through its 21 lines. The song also honours the state's illustrious history. The vocals are performed by Dr Shyam Sharma, with Paras Chopra serving as the composer.
Writer and actress Gitu Pari from Sonipat is claiming rights to the lyrics of Haryana's new state song, which is set to be released in the Haryana Assembly during the Budget session. Pari asserted that the song's lyrics bear a striking resemblance to her own song and she should be given credit for her work.

Singer Krishna Kumar from Fatehabad, Haryana, has claimed ownership of the state song, stating it's a Hindi version of his original Haryanvi song. He alleges that 80 per cent of the state song is identical to his submission to the government in 2021, during the COVID pandemic, when it sought application for the song.
