Himachal Helicopter Service: In a significant move to enhance regional connectivity, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday inaugurated daily helicopter services from the Sanjauli heliport in Shimla. This new service will link the state capital with Chandigarh, Bhuntar, and Reckong Peo.
The daily helicopter services, connecting Shimla to Chandigarh, Bhuntar, and Reckong Peo, are set to revolutionise regional travel by making remote destinations more accessible. The service will also offer both residents and tourists stunning aerial views of the Himalayas.

Shimla To Chandigarh Helicopter Service
- The new service, operated by Pawan Hans, is expected to reduce the travel time between Shimla and Chandigarh to 25 minutes, with the fare fixed at Rs 3,150.
Shimla To Bhuntar And Reckong Peo Helicopter Service
- Heritage Aviation will operate daily flights connecting Shimla to Bhuntar and Reckong Peo, with fares set at Rs 3,500 and Rs 4,000, respectively.
Helicopter Services To Different Locations Soon: CM Sukhu
Sukhu noted that while the state currently has approximately 70 helipads, the government is now planning to develop them into full-scale heliports. He highlighted that the foundation stone for the Sanjauli heliport was originally laid by former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.
In the coming months, the state plans to expand similar helicopter services to additional locations to provide better connectivity for both residents and tourists.
