Looking ahead, another fresh western disturbance is likely to affect the region from the night of February 5, likely bringing another round of rain and snow. Authorities have advised residents to stay vigilant and limit non-essential travel during adverse weather conditions.

Himachal Pradesh Weather Update

According to the Meteorological Centre Shimla, Himachal Pradesh received light to moderate rain and snow between Monday and Tuesday morning. Kalpa recorded the highest snowfall at 10.5 cm, while Manali saw the heaviest rainfall at 22 mm.

Despite the snowfall, the minimum temperature stayed 2-6 degrees Celsius above normal at many stations, with Tabo plunging to a low of minus 6.4 degrees Celsius and Una hitting a high of 23 degrees Celsius, news agency ANI reported.

The current weather conditions, accompanied by dense fog, thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds with speeds reaching up to 39 kmph is driven by a western disturbance seen as a cyclonic circulation over north Pakistan and Punjab.

Himachal Weather Forecast

- A fresh western disturbance is set to affect the western Himalayan region from the night of February 5.

- Under its influence, light to moderate rain and snowfall are likely across the state on February 3 and 9, with isolated light rain expected to occur over the high hills on February 6 and 8.

- However, dry weather is likely to prevail on February 4, 5, and 7.

- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for today, warning of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph across several districts, including Shimla, Kangra, and Kullu.

- A dense fog warning has been issued for Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Mandi, Solan and Sirmaur.

- Authorities have advised residents to stay vigilant and avoid unnecessary travel during adverse weather conditions to avoid inconvenience.
