Three minor sisters allegedly died by suicide in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad after jumping from the ninth floor of a residential building, reportedly following their parents’ objections to excessive online gaming. The incident occurred around 2 am on Tuesday in Bharat City society under the Tila Mod police station limits. Police have launched an investigation.
According to NDTV, the girls have been identified as Pakhi (12), Prachi (14) and Vishika (16), residents of flat number 907 in the B1 Tower of Bharat City. Police said the sisters were allegedly addicted to online mobile games and were not attending school regularly.

Investigators said the siblings had developed the habit of playing online games during the COVID-19 pandemic and were particularly engaged in a task-based Korean love game. Family members told police that the three sisters spent most of their time together, including eating, studying and other daily activities.
The family was asleep when the three sisters allegedly jumped from a window of their house. Their father, Chetan, who works in online trading, has been living with his family in Bharat City for the past three years. The family had earlier resided in Delhi.
Police have seized the mobile phones of the three sisters as part of the investigation. Preliminary findings suggest they were playing a Korean dating simulation, a task-based game app. Some handwritten notes were also recovered from the spot, and officials said the exact circumstances will become clear after a detailed examination of the devices. The probe is ongoing.
The exact reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained. Police said further inquiry is underway to determine the circumstances leading to the deaths.
In a separate incident, a 38-year-old software professional and her two teenage children were found dead on the MMTS railway tracks between Cherlapally and Ghatkesar near Hyderabad early Saturday. The incident came to light around 12:40 am when a goods train loco pilot spotted the bodies and alerted authorities. Police suspect suicide, though investigations are ongoing.
The deceased were identified as the woman, her 18-year-old Class 12 daughter, and her 17-year-old Class 11 son, residents of Boduppal in Medchal-Malkajgiri district. The bodies were found mutilated and shifted to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem. No train tickets were recovered, and police said there were no signs of financial distress. A case has been registered, and further probe is underway.
