Himachal Weather News Today: Himachal Pradesh is witnessing pleasant weather during the current monsoon season, as 4 inches of snowfall has contributed significantly to reduced temperatures in Baralacha, Kunjam and Rohtang. Rain, thunder, and hailstorms have swept in, bringing a cool breeze to other areas. The temperature in the state has experienced a drop from 2 to 11 degrees Celsius. 

Yellow Alert For Strong Wind, Lightning In Several Areas

According to the latest forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a yellow alert has been issued for Wednesday, warning of thunderstorms and lightning in several districts of Himachal Pradesh, including Chamba, Kangra, Mandi, Kullu, Solan, and Shimla. The storms are expected to bring winds of 30-40 kmph.

According to the forecast, there is a possibility of rain at some places in the state, with the effects of the western disturbance expected to last till June 5. The monsoon is predicted to enter the state between June 15 and 25. 

Salapad area has experienced the highest rainfall in the state at 25.2 mm, followed by Shri Murari Devi at 22 mm, Kufri at 19 mm, and Karsog at 16.3 mm. According to the Meteorological Department, above-normal rainfall is expected during the monsoon season.

There has been a significant contraction in the highest and lowest temperatures of the state, with Manali recording a 10.8-degree fall, Bhuntar 8.1 degrees, Keylong and Mandi over 4 degrees, and Shimla and other places up to 3.5 degrees. Una has recorded the highest temperature in the state at 38.4 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature reduction has been 5 degrees Celsius.
