Jharkhand Weather: A significant weather update has emerged for Jharkhand, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting heavy rainfall across the state over the next three days. In the capital, Ranchi, rising temperatures on Tuesday afternoon were followed by a spell of heavy rain, bringing much-needed relief from the heat.
Accompanied by strong winds, the rain caused a notable drop in temperature-around two degrees. Ranchi recorded 15.6 mm of rainfall, with the maximum temperature settling at 33.8°C.
According to IMD, sporadic rain is expected in Ranchi and surrounding areas over the next three days. Some regions may also experience thunderstorms and gusty winds.
Widespread rainfall was reported across Ranchi on Tuesday, leading to waterlogging in several areas. Commuters on Station Road faced difficulties as overflowing drains caused water to accumulate on the roads, disrupting traffic.
According to IMD, surrounding districts also experienced overcast skies, light rain, and strong winds. Despite the rainfall, no significant change is expected in the maximum temperature over the next three days. Currently, the maximum temperature in Ranchi and most nearby districts remains below the seasonal average.
However, IMD forecasts that temperatures may rise by 2 to 3 degrees after this three-day period, indicating a possible return of warmer conditions. A more noticeable drop in temperature is expected later, once the monsoon fully arrives and brings heavier rainfall to the region.
