East Central Railway (ECR) has announced the operation of 26 pairs of special trains for the upcoming Holi festival to manage the surge in passenger traffic. These “Holi Utsav Specials” will run on various dates from the last week of February until the end of March.

The railway zone shared details about the special services through a post on X, informing passengers about the additional arrangements.

Special Arrangements to Manage Festive Rush

According to the railway administration, there is a significant rise in the number of passengers travelling to and from their hometowns during Holi. To ensure smoother travel and better availability of confirmed tickets, ECR has decided to operate special trains on multiple busy routes.

The move aims to reduce waiting lists and provide a comfortable journey to passengers during the festive season.

Gorakhpur-Narkatiaganj

Katihar-Amritsar

Amritsar-Katihar

Chhindwara-Jhajhapur

Jhajhapur-Chhindwara

Chalpalli-Raxaul

Raxaul-Chalpalli

Malda Town-Anand Vihar Terminal

Anand Vihar Terminal-Malda Town

Sealdah-Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur-Sealdah

Asansol-Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur-Asansol

Puri-Patna

Patna-Puri

Tata-Katihar

Katihar-Tata

The trains will run on weekly, biweekly, and daily frequencies depending on the route and demand.
