In a bid to manage the festive rush during Holi, the North Central division of Indian Railways is set to run 204 special trains to ensure smooth and hassle-free travel across key rail corridors. The railway division has said that the trains will operate through the NCR railway region and will connect major Indian cities.

Trains Passing Through NCR

Out of the total trips, the North Central Railway will operate five pairs (around 36 trips) directly. These trains will pass directly from key stations within the NCR zone to account for the surge in passenger movement. The services will run according to their respective timetables from February 15 to March 31. The five pairs of festival special trains announced by North Central Railway are:

  • 04101/04102: Prayagraj - Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT)
  • 04121/04122: Subedarganj - Charlapalli
  • 01922/01921: VGL Jhansi - Pune
  • 01924/01923: VGL Jhansi - Hadapsar
  • 04151/04152: Kanpur Central - Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT)

How To Book Tickets?

The tickets can be booked on the IRCTC website, mobile application and the NTES app. Due to the upcoming festive rush, the railways have advised passengers to book their berths early to secure confirmed seats. Railway officials also clarified that more special trains may be announced if passenger demand continues to rise closer to Holi.

North East Railways To Run 1,410 Trips From March 1

In a separate development, the North East Railways is set to run nearly 1,410 trips from March 1 to March 22 to major stations, including Gorakhpur. This is done to ensure a smooth travel experience for the people during the Holi Festivities. 

The railway administration regularly operates special trains during the summer season as well as for major festivals like Diwali, Chhath and Holi, ensuring that passengers can reach their destinations on time.
