Jagran Correspondent, Ranchi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that the southwest monsoon arrived in Jharkhand in the late hours of Friday. At a press conference in Ranchi, meteorologist Abhishek Anand said that the monsoon's effects are clearly visible in the eastern part of the state, especially in the Santhal Pargana and Kolhan regions. The weather department stated that several districts are likely to witness moderate to heavy rainfall in the coming days.

As per the weather department, the monsoon has already become active in Godda, Deoghar, East Singhbhum, and several parts of Giridih district. It is expected to expand to other districts over the next two to three days, providing much-needed relief from the scorching heat. The weather department stated that a deep low-pressure area over West Bengal has intensified monsoon activity in Jharkhand.

The meteorological department stated that the Kolhan and Santhal Pargana regions will receive the maximum rainfall in the next three days. The department has issued an orange alert for heavy rainfall in nine districts, including Ranchi, Deoghar, Godda, and Giridih. While the maximum temperature in Ranchi is likely to be calculated at 33 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 24 degrees Celsius.

Along with rainfall, these regions are also expected to witness thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds for the next few days. While the continuous rainfall will reduce the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius, it will also lead to waterlogging in the lower regions. The waterlogging is likely to cause inconvenience to the farmers and the daily commuters.

While providing details, meteorologist Abhishek Anand explained that the monsoon typically arrives in Kerala on June 1, but this year it arrived on June 4. The normal arrival of the monsoon in Jharkhand is around June 12, while it becomes active in Ranchi and surrounding central parts by June 15.
