Jharkhand Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several districts of Jharkhand are likely to witness a sharp drop in temperature in the upcoming days. The weather department stated that the minimum temperature in the regions nearby the capital city, Ranchi, was recorded below five degrees Celsius. The temperature in McCluskieganj was recorded below one degree Celsius, leading to inconvenience to the residents. The IMD stated that several districts are set to witness a cold wave and dense fog, especially in the early hours. The presence of fog is likely to disrupt the flight and train operations. The IMD has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts, including Ranchi, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Gumla, Bokaro, Khunti, Palamu, Garhwa, Chatra, and Latehar, have been witnessing a cold wave for the past few days. It further stated that the temperature is not likely to increase in the next few days, advising the residents to take precautions. While the maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded in Chaibasa at 27 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature was recorded in McCluskieganj at 0.9 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature in Ranchi was recorded at 22.2 degrees Celsius on Monday, and the minimum temperature remained at 6.2 degrees Celsius. As per the forecast by the Ranchi Meteorological Center, a severe cold wave is prevailing in the adjoining and central parts of the state, as well as in the districts of the northwestern region.
The weather department stated that the minimum temperature is further likely to drop by two to three degrees Celsius in several districts. Apart from Jharkhand, several other northern states, including Bihar, Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi, are also likely to witness cold wave for the next few days.
