An encounter under the ongoing Operation Trashi-I broke out between the security forces and terrorists during the early hours of Saturday in the general area of Dolgam in Jammu and Kashmir.
The encounter is jointly carried out by the White Knight Corps of the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF. As the operation continues, terrorists are trapped, and the cordon has been placed. The army said intelligence from all sources was coordinated to plan and execute the operation on the ground.
In a statement, White Knight Corps said, "During the ongoing joint Operation Trashi-I, contact with terrorists was re-established in the early hours of 31 Jan 2026, in the general area of Dolgam by troops of White Knight Corps, J&K Police and CRPF. Intelligence from all sources had been coordinated to provide inputs to execute the operation on the ground. A cordon has been established and operations are in progress."
Operation Trashi-I was launched on January 18 after contact was established with the Jaish terrorists in the north of the general area Son Nar and northeast of Chhatru, near Mandral-Singhoora in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar.
The terrorists had opened fire at the forces and were later trapped in the rugged terrain. After three days of intense search and cordon (SAC), one Havildar died in a gunfight, and seven other security personnel were injured.
The security forces managed to bust the Kargil-style hideout, but the terrorists managed to sneak out before sensing a setback.
The Kargil-style fortified bunker had 50 packets of Maggi, vegetables such as tomatoes and potatoes, spices of almost 15 types, 20 kg of high-quality basmati rice, pulses, cooking gas, and dry wood. The material seemed enough to provide for months.
The security forces then started to find out how the terrorists managed to get the rations up in there and who all helped them.
