Kolkata Crime: The bodies of three family members, including two women and a teenage girl, were discovered under mysterious circumstances at their residence in the Tangra area of Eastern Kolkata on Wednesday. The victims were found with their wrists slit, prompting police to launch an investigation into the case.

Officials stated that the bodies have been sent for a post-mortem, which will determine whether the deaths were due to suicide or homicide. Meanwhile, local police have begun questioning neighbours to ascertain if they noticed any unusual behaviour from the victims in the days leading up to the incident.

According to a NDTV report, the bodies were discovered in the morning while police were conducting an investigation related to a road accident. The husband of one of the deceased women had been involved in an accident at Ruby Crossing on the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass earlier that day. Traffic police, upon recovering his ID, traced his address to Tangra and arrived at the residence.

However, when officers entered the home, they were met with an unexpected scene—three female family members lying dead with deep wounds on their wrists. The nature of the deaths raised suspicions, leading to the involvement of the homicide department. Soon after, senior officials, including the joint commissioner (crime), arrived at the scene to oversee the investigation.

So far, neighbours have reported that they did not notice any strange behaviour among the victims in recent days. The investigation is ongoing and more details are expected.
