LPG Cylinder Price Hike: The prices of commercial liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders have been increased in major cities from June 1. Oil marketing companies have increased the rates of 19 kg commercial cylinders, while there is no change in the prices of domestic cooking gas. In Delhi, the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has been increased by Rs 42 to Rs 3,113.50. In Kolkata, its rate has increased by Rs 53.50 to Rs 3,255.50. Oil marketing companies have also announced an increase in the prices of 5 kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinders.
Oil marketing companies have increased the prices of 5 kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinders by Rs 11. Following this revision, the retail price of a 5-kg FTL cylinder in Delhi is now Rs 821.50. The new rates for 5 kg and 19 kg commercial cylinders came into effect on June 1.
Rates In Mumbai And Chennai
Following today's increase, a 19 kg commercial gas cylinder will be available for Rs 3,067 in Mumbai and Rs 3,283 in Chennai. Meanwhile, domestic LPG prices remained unchanged despite the continued rise in petrol, diesel, and CNG prices due to the ongoing conflict between the US and Iran. Hyderabad and Patna saw prices rise to Rs 3,294 and Rs 3,322, respectively.
Commercial LPG cylinders are primarily used by hotels, restaurants, roadside eateries, and other businesses. Free trade LPG cylinders are typically used in areas that do not fall under the subsidized domestic LPG category.

LPG prices in India are typically revised on the first of every month. These changes depend on changes in global crude oil prices, currency exchange rates, freight costs, and government subsidy policies.
Domestic cooking gas prices are politically sensitive, as they directly impact household budgets. For now, consumers will continue to enjoy some temporary relief, as LPG cylinder prices remain unchanged despite growing uncertainty in the global energy market.
