Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: In a shocking incident from Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, an elderly man was brutally stabbed to death by his son on road following a dispute over property. The horrific incident happened shortly after the son lost a legal battle regarding the house. The victim's daughter, who attempted to intervene and protect her father, was also injured in the assault.

The deceased has been identified as 82-year-old Jafar Qamaruddin Syed Patel, a retired employee of the Water Resources Department. According to reports, Jafar had been locked in a long-standing feud with his son, Abdul Rahman. Abdul, who works as a medical representative, frequently picked fights and physically assaulted family members at home.

A 2-Year-Old Legal Battle

Fed up with his son’s continuous harassment and abusive behavior, the elderly father had moved to Pune to live with his daughter. He filed a court case to evict his son from his house. This legal battle went on for nearly two years.

Victory Turns into Tragedy

On Friday, the court ruled in favor of the elderly father. The court ordered the son to vacate the house and handed over full ownership of the property to Jafar Patel.

Following the verdict, Jafar Patel, carrying the court's eviction order, was returning home in an auto-rickshaw with his daughter. In a fit of rage over the verdict, Abdul Rahman stopped their auto-rickshaw midway. He dragged his elderly father out onto the street and repeatedly stabbed him in broad daylight.

The elderly father died on the spot due to the gruesome attack, while his daughter sustained injuries trying to shield him. Demonstrating swift action, the police arrested the accused son, Abdul Rahman, and have launched a thorough investigation into the case.
