Maharashtra Weather: The continuous rainfall in several districts of Maharashtra has disrupted traffic movement and has caused damage to infrastructure, especially in Mumbai and Pune. The India Meteorological Department (IMD), in its latest advisory, has stated that several regions of Maharashtra will continue to witness rain even on Wednesday. However, the intensity is likely to reduce in the coming days, the weather department clarified.

Rain Alert For Multiple Districts

As per the latest advisory, heavy to very heavy rains are expected in the Palghar, Raigad, and Ratnagiri districts of the Konkan region. While the intensity of rain activities has reduced in Mumbai and nearby regions, moderate rains have been forecast in Thane, Mumbai, and Raigad districts today as well.

Apart from this, there is a possibility of light rain in several regions, including Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli, Solapur, Akola, Amravati, Buldhana, and Wardha. Along with rain, the residents are also likely to experience thunderstorms, gusty winds, and lightning.

Rain Continues in Mumbai

The residents of Mumbai continued to witness rain in the early hours of Wednesday, leading to severe waterlogging in several regions. The waterlogging has affected vehicular movement on key roads, including the Eastern Express Highway, causing inconveniences to the daily commuters.

Trains Cancelled On July 8:

- Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central Vande Bharat Express

- Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central Tejas Express

- Ahmedabad-Bandra Terminus Karnavati Express

- Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central AC Double Decker Express

Apart from this, the routes of several trains were also changed amid the heavy rainfall. The Western Railway on Tuesday stated that all suburban local trains on the Churchgate–Virar route are operating normally. The authority has advised the rail passengers to stay updated and plan their travels accordingly to avoid inconveniences.

However, the BMC refuted the reports suggesting that the schools and colleges in Mumbai will remain closed on Wednesday. It also clarified that the private employees have not been allowed to work from home.
