Women across India break their fast as the Karwa Chauth moon was sighted across cities. Karwa Chauth is celebrated with great fervour across the country, mainly in north Indian states of Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and others. 

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta participated in Karwa Chauth rituals at her residence, joining several women in celebrating the auspicious festival. Extending her greetings, CM Gupta said, "This is such a holy occasion. Women across the country fast for their husbands...I extend greetings to all women of the country."

Women dance ahead of moon sighting in Assam, where moonrise will begin shortly. Married women can break their day-long fasts once moon is visible in the sky.

Like every year, Bollywood actor Raveena Tandon is celebrating Karwa Chauth with traditional fervour and joy. The actor, known for her deep-rooted cultural values and vibrant festive spirit, shared glimpses of her mehendi adorned with a heartfelt family tribute.

Raveena also participated in the traditional mehendi ritual and chose to make it extra special this year by paying homage to her loved ones. She got the names of her parents, husband and children beautifully inscribed in her henna design, giving her Karwa Chauth celebrations an emotional and personal touch.

With Karwa Chauth just around the corner, markets across North India are buzzing with festive excitement. In Jaipur, women are thronging shops to get adorned with mehendi designs on their hands. The women were seen buying cosmetics, bangles, clothes, and other essentials to prepare for the holy festival. At the Sarawagi Mansion and Gaurav Tower complex in Jaipur, the women are seen sitting beside the mehendi artists to get different henna designs on their hands.

Though moon rise times differ in different cities, based on geographical locations and visibility, the moon rise time across India is 8:14 pm, after which the moon will be visible in almost every city.

Karwa Chauth is celebrated on the Chaturthi Tithi of the Kartik Krishna Paksha in the Kartika month.

Married women in Delhi can break their Karwa Chauth fast at 8:12 pm today when the moon will rise. The sun will set at 5:56 pm today.
