In a big push towards regional integration, the authorities have decided to link the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train to two metros - Metro 3 or Aqua Line and 2B. The bullet train will be linked to Metro 3 through a tunnel at Bandra-Kurla Complex and 2B’s IL&FS station via a footover bridge (FOB).
The integration of the bullet train with two metros is a joint effort led by the National High-Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL) in association with urban transport agencies, including the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) and Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRCL). The is India’s first bullet train project, which will connect two financial towns, Mumbai and Ahmedabad, according to reports.
Bullet Train Linking To Mumbai Metro 3: Details
The Metro 3 or Aqua Line connects Aarey in the north with Cuffe Parade in the south, providing access to major city corridors, railway networks and the airport. According to the reports, Mumbai Metro 3 will be linked to the bullet train through a 1.1 km underground tunnel at Bandra-Kurla Complex.
The tunnel will be built at an estimated cost of Rs 100-150 crore. The underground tunnel will be constructed on Mumbai’s existing subways at Churchgate and CSMT. With modern facilities, shops and travelators, the tunnel will provide seamless access to the bullet train.

Bullet Train Linking To 2B: Details
Metro Line 2B operates from DN Nagar Mandale. Line-2B’s IL&FS station will be linked to the bullet train via a footover bridge (FOB). The FOB will start at the bullet train terminal’s road-level concourse and will lead to 2B’s station. The FOB is expected to address the last-mile connectivity needs of the commuters.
