Nasir and Junaid, both residents of Ghatmeeka Village in Bharatpur, were kidnapped by a group of gau rakshaks (cow vigilantes) on February 15 on suspicion of cow smuggling. They were brutally beaten and their charred bodies were discovered in a Bolero Car the next day.
Last month, Rajasthan police said that their probe has not found "direct" involvement of Manesar in the killing of both men but his role in hatching conspiracy and abetting the crime is under active investigation. He was among 21 accused named in the FIR. The families of the victims alleged that the duo was abducted and later murdered by people belonging to Bajrang dal, a claim which the Hindu outfit refuted.
