Ahead of the NEET-UG re-exam scheduled on June 21, the central government is planning to deploy the Indian Air Force, and the Postal Department will now be responsible for the secure delivery of question papers instead of private agencies.
As part of the revised security arrangement, the Indian Air Force will transport question papers to 18 regional centres across the country, while the Postal Department will ensure their distribution from regional centres to examination centres.

Three-Tier Security System For Exam Papers
From regional centres onward, question papers will be moved to exam centres under a three-layer security cover, involving:
- Central security forces
- Local police
- Senior officials from the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the district administration
Officials said the arrangement aims to ensure complete security and prevent any leakage or malpractice.
Nationwide Exam Coverage
The NEET-UG examination is conducted across approximately:
- 552 cities in India
- 14 international locations
The upcoming re-exam will be conducted strictly in accordance with the security guidelines that have been suggested to date, including the exclusion of private agencies from the exam process, as stated by the government.
This development came after the meeting called by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to discuss the preparation of NEET-UG, which was attended by Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
Postal involvement in the logistics was of interest to many, and officials have now confirmed their role in moving the materials safely.
The whole process is an attempt to redesign the system in such a way that there is multi-level monitoring and safe handling of papers from their printing till delivery. This would eventually reinforce transparency in the exams.
