Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who led the BJP's 'Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy' padayatra on Monday, said the NDA government is ready to convene a Special Session of Parliament on the issues linked to the EVMs, SIR drive and infiltrators. Shah dared Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to debate the matter in the House.
Scaling up attacks on the Congress, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party held a padayatra to counter the "vote chori" allegation a day after INDIA bloc leaders organised a mega rally at the Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi.
Rahul Will Not Debate Because He Wants To Create News Through Anarchy: Shah
"The Constitution's responsibilities are discharged through the country's Parliament, but Rahul ji, you do not allow Parliament to function. I challenge you today from the land of Hyderabad. We are ready to convene a special session of Parliament. Come and participate in a discussion. But he will not participate in the discussion because he knows that only through anarchy and disorder can the Congress party keep itself in the news," Shah said, addressing a gathering. If Parliament functions, our Modi ji will completely demolish their arguments, he added.
Shah Terms INDIA Bloc's Rally As A 'Save Infiltrator' Rally
Shah, who was addressing BJP's event a day after INDIA bloc's rally at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan, said the Opposition's protest was a "save infiltrator" rally. Questioning Congress's stance on the EVM, he wondered how the grand old party formed governments in states, including Telangana, if the EVMs are bad. Taking a jibe at Rahul Gandhi, he said a Congress leader can become Prime Minister only in mock Parliament. He asserted that every infiltrator will be removed from the electoral rolls.
Amit Shah Undertakes 'Padayatra' Day After INDIA Bloc Showdown
Meanwhile, Shah undertook a 'padayatra' in Hyderabad as part of the Telangana BJP's campaign against the alleged false narrative by the Congress regarding the SIR exercise. Shah's foot march was held from the Babu Jagjivan Ram statue at Basheerbagh to the Mozamjahi Market.
Lawyers, doctors, intellectuals and thousands of party workers and people participated in the foot march. The foot march is seen as a counterattack by the ruling party against the INDIA bloc after it called for the BJP's ouster from power over the "vote chori" charge, with Rahul Gandhi asserting that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar will be removed and sent to jail for treason in future and that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Shah will not be allowed to escape the law.
In a show of strength, prominent leaders of the grouping addressed a mammoth rally at Ramlila Maidan and claimed that the BJP formed governments at the centre and in states with "stolen" mandate. "Narendra Modi ji and Amit Shah ji, understand this -- after Gyanesh Kumar, we will stand against you and don't forget that for the 'vote chori' you have done, there will be legal action against you," Gandhi said.
