To handle the expected rush during Diwali and Chhath Puja, Indian Railways has announced several festival special trains operating through October and November. According to a report by Business Today, these additional services will connect key cities across northern, eastern, and southern India.

Kanpur Central-SMVT Bengaluru Special

For passengers travelling between Kanpur and Bengaluru, Indian Railways will operate the 04131/04132 Kanpur Central-SMVT Bengaluru Special.

  • Kanpur Central to SMVT Bengaluru (Train No. 04131): Departs Kanpur Central every Sunday at 4:30 PM, starting October 4.
  • SMVT Bengaluru to Kanpur Central (Train No. 04132): Departs SMVT Bengaluru every Wednesday at 7:10 AM, starting October 7.
  • Stoppages: Prayagraj, Satna, Itarsi, Nagpur, Vijayawada, Nellore, Renigunta, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, and Krishnarajapuram.

Varanasi-Delhi Reserved Special (50 Trips)

To handle passenger demand between Varanasi and Delhi, the 04209/04210 Varanasi-Delhi Reserved Special Express will make 50 trips during the festive period:

  • Varanasi to Delhi (Train No. 04209): Departs Varanasi at 10:15 PM and arrives in Delhi at 1:45 PM the following day. Operates on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (October 2 to November 27).
  • Delhi to Varanasi (Train No. 04210): Departs Delhi at 6:50 PM and arrives in Varanasi at 9:50 AM the following day. Operates on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays (October 2 to November 28).
  • Coach Composition: AC 2-tier, AC 3-tier, sleeper, and general coaches.

Ayodhya-Anand Vihar Terminal Special (36 Trips)

To accommodate passengers travelling between Ayodhya and Delhi, Indian Railways will run the 04213/04214 Ayodhya Cantt-Anand Vihar Terminal Special, which will make 36 trips between October 1 and November 30:

  • Ayodhya Cantt to Anand Vihar Terminal: Departs Ayodhya Cantt at 6:20 PM and arrives at Anand Vihar Terminal at 6:10 AM the next day.
  • Anand Vihar Terminal to Ayodhya Cantt: Departs Anand Vihar Terminal at 9:00 AM and arrives at Ayodhya Cantt at 10:00 PM the same day.

Chandigarh-Patna And Firozpur-Patna Specials

To assist passengers travelling from Punjab and Chandigarh to Bihar, Indian Railways will operate the following services:

  • Chandigarh-Patna Special (04512/04511): Scheduled for 18 trips. Stoppages include Ambala Cantt, Saharanpur, Roorkee, Moradabad, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Varanasi, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Buxar, Ara, and Danapur.
  • Firozpur Cantt-Patna Special (04616/04615): Scheduled for 16 trips. Stoppages include Moga, Ludhiana, Ambala Cantt, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Varanasi, and Buxar.
