Jagran Correspondent, Dhanbad: Thunderstorms accompanied by rain are expected in most parts of Jharkhand, including Dhanbad, over the next five days. Intense showers and strong thunderstorms are expected in Dhanbad on Wednesday. The Ranchi Meteorological Center has issued a yellow alert in view of this.
As per the forecast from the weather body, the low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify into a depression within the next 24 hours. It is likely to intensify further into a deep depression during the following 24 hours.

Due to this, rain activity is expected in most or all parts of Jharkhand until September 26. Thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds are also possible in some areas. Heavy to very heavy rain is expected in some areas between September 22 and 26.
The depression is expected to bring strong winds with speeds reaching up to 60 km/h from September 23. Increased rainfall activity may cause temperatures to drop. The maximum temperature could drop from 32 degrees to 29 degrees.
Risk Of Flash Floods In Low Lying Areas
The Ranchi Meteorological Centre has advised caution against lightning. It recommended staying away from concrete floors, avoiding going outside during thunderstorms, getting away from water sources, and avoiding standing under trees.
Excessive rain can cause waterlogging in low-lying areas and the risk of flash floods due to rising water levels in rivers and reservoirs. Waterlogging in fields can damage rice and vegetables.
