Jagran Correspondent, Dhanbad: Heavy rain is expected in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad and several surrounding districts over the next two days. As per the weather body, there is also a risk of thunder and lightning. Strong winds with speeds of up to 30 to 40 kmph are likely in some places. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert regarding this.

Due to the formation of a low pressure area over parts of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, rainfall activity is likely to continue until September 10. A western disturbance is expected to cause isolated heavy rainfall. There are indications that another low pressure area will become active over the Bay of Bengal from September 11

This will affect Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Odisha. The effects of the low pressure may be visible from September 11 to 15. Additionally, two western disturbances may remain active over northern India until September 16th, which is likely to increase rainfall activity.

The mercury dropped by two degrees in 24 hours, and is expected to drop by two more degrees from Wednesday.

The temperature has dropped by two degrees in the last 24 hours. The maximum temperature has dropped from 34 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius. A further drop of two degrees is predicted in the next 24 hours.

Temperatures are expected to remain low for the next two to three days. A slight increase is possible before a low pressure begins around the 11. A further drop is expected once rain activity begins.

Meanwhile, the IMD has stated that the eastern and central parts of the country are likely to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall in the coming days. As per the weather department, the coastal regions are also expected to receive thunderstorms, gusty winds, and lightning. Apart from this, 13 districts of Bihar continue to face the flood-like situation due to a sudden surge in water level in the rivers.
