Karnataka Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow alert for heavy rain for 13 districts of Karnataka at least till September 20. In its advisory, the weather department stated that the coastal regions are expected to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds along with heavy rain. The local residents and the fishermen have been advised to follow the guidelines and limit their outings during the rain to avoid inconveniences.
Rain Likely In Multiple Districts
While providing details, the weather department stated that moderate to heavy rainfall is likely in several regions, including Bangalore City, Bangalore Rural, Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Ramanagara, Mandya, Mysore, Chamarajanagar, Hassan, Kodagu, Tumkur, Shimoga, and Vijayanagara. The southern districts are likely to witness gusty winds and thunderstorms in the coming days, the weather department added.

Will It Rain In Bengaluru?
As per the advisory, the capital city Bengaluru will continue to witness moderate to heavy rainfall in the next 48 hours. While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 33 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is likely to remain around 22 degrees Celsius. The continuous rainfall is likely to cause waterlogging in different parts of the city, leading to inconveniences to the commuters.
Traffic Congestion Likely
Earlier on Tuesday, Bengaluru received significant rainfall in the evening hours, leading to heavy traffic congestion in the key regions. Along with the usual commuters, the IT professionals and college students also remained stranded for several hours. The concerned authorities have been directed to take necessary steps to ensure smooth vehicular movement, especially during the peak hours.
Apart from this, the commuters have also been advised to plan their travels in advance and utilize public transportation to avoid the rush. Along with Karnataka, the coastal regions of other nearby states, including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh, are also likely to witness similar weather conditions.
