Tamil Nadu Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that at least 20 districts of Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, are likely to witness moderate to heavy rainfall. Along with the heavy rain, these regions are also set to experience thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds at a speed of 40-50 kmph. The residents have been advised to follow the guidelines and limit their outings during the rain to avoid inconveniences.

Tamil Nadu Weather On Friday

As per the weather department, moderate to heavy rainfall is likely in multiple regions, including Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, Ranipet, Vellore, Tirupattur, Salem, Tirupur, Erode, Dharmapuri, Namakkal, Madurai, Sivagangai, Krishnagiri, Kallakurichi, Cuddalore, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Karur, Mayiladuthurai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, and Pudukottai. Apart from this, the residents of Puducherry and Karaikal will experience similar weather conditions.

Tamil Nadu Weather On September 19

The IMD stated that heavy rain is likely in several districts, such as Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Vellore, Villupuram, Tiruvannamalai, Tirupattur, Ranipet, Tiruvallur, Kallakurichi, and Salem on Saturday.

Tamil Nadu: Will It Rain On Sunday?

As per the latest advisory, heavy rainfall will continue even on Sunday in some regions, including Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Dindigul, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Tiruchirappalli, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Madurai, Villupuram, and Kallakurichi. While the continuous rainfall will provide relief from humidity, it will also cause waterlogging in the lower regions, leading to inconveniences to the locals.

Chennai Weather Update

The weather department has stated that the residents of Chennai will witness cloudy skies throughout the day, adding that light to moderate rainfall is likely in the evening hours. While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 37 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 26 degrees Celsius.
