In a tragic accident, a 50-year-old doctor was burnt alive after the car he was driving caught fire after hitting a road divider in Suryapet district of Telangana on Sunday. The doctor was travelling from Khammam to Hyderabad to meet his family when the accident occurred. A video of the incident showing the car engulfed in flames has been circulating on the internet.
The deceased was identified as K Jagadish, a neurosurgeon working at Mamata Hospital in Khammam. He was identified through the vehicle’s registration number. After completing his work on Sunday, he was reportedly returning to Hyderabad to meet his family.
The accident took place near the Pillalamarri flyover on the Hyderabad-Khammam highway at around 7:15 am. The car caught fire after hitting the road divider. On receiving information, a police team and fire personnel reached the spot and brought the blaze under control, but the vehicle was completely gutted.
What happened?
According to preliminary information, Jagadish’s Volvo was travelling at high speed when he suddenly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the divider in the middle of the road. The impact was severe, and the car immediately caught fire. Within moments, the entire vehicle was engulfed in flames.
Passersby informed the police immediately after the accident. By the time the fire brigade reached the spot and extinguished the blaze, the vehicle had been completely destroyed. A charred body was later found in the driver’s seat. The doctor, who was trapped inside the vehicle, died from severe burns and smoke inhalation.

Police said a preliminary investigation suggests that the doctor may have dozed off while driving, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. However, the police are investigating the incident from all angles. A forensic team has taken the burned remains into custody and begun further investigation.
