Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several states across the country are likely to witness light to heavy rain in the coming days. The rain activities in the plain northern states are likely to decrease, but the northeastern states, hilly regions, and the southern states are still likely to witness intense downpour. The residents of these regions have been advised to follow the guidelines and limit their outings during rain.
Rain Likely In Bihar, UP
As per the weather department, heavy rainfall is likely in several districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Mainpuri, Hardoi, Kanpur, Etah, Agra, Mathura, Bareilly, Kasganj, Prayagraj and Meerut. Along with heavy rain, these regions are also expected to receive thunderstorms, gusty winds, and lightning.
The IMD stated that similar weather condition is likely in multiple districts of Bihar, such as Katihar, Kishanganj, Samastipur, East Champaran, Gaya, Munger, Purnia, Vaishali, Jehanabad and Bhagalpur. The farmers have been advised to stay updated and protect their crops in the coming days.
IMD Issues Rain Alert For Bengal
In its advisory, the IMD stated that rain and thunderstorms are expected in many areas of West Bengal on October 3. While providing details, it stated that heavy rain is expected in several regions, including Nadia, Darjeeling, Cooch Behar, Howrah, Birbhum, and Kolkata. The maximum temperature in Kolkata is expected to be calculated at 34 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be 26 degrees Celsius.
South India To Witness Heavy Rain
The weather department has stated that several parts of the hilly states Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu and Kashmir are likely to witness heavy rainfall at least till October 6. It further asserted that the northeastern states and the coastal regions of south India are set to witness heavy downpour in the coming days.
