Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that at least 15 states across the country are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall on Tuesday. Along with the heavy downpour, the northern and central states are also expected to witness thunderstorms, gusty winds, and lightning, the weather department said. The residents have been advised to follow the guidelines and plan their days accordingly.

While the IMD has issued a red alert for Gujarat amid the continuous rainfall, moderate to heavy rains along with strong winds and thunderstorms have been forecast in several major states, including Delhi-NCR, UP, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh.

Light Rain Likely In Delhi

As per the forecast, Delhi and its nearby cities are likely to witness cloudy skies throughout the day, with chances of light rain in the late hours. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 32 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature around 24 degrees Celsius.

Red Alert For Gujarat

The weather department, amid the heavy rainfall, has issued a red alert for eight districts of Gujarat. The residents of Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Morbi, Porbandar, Jamnagar, and Devbhoomi Dwarka are set to witness extremely heavy rainfall on Tuesday.

Heavy Rain Likely In UP, Bihar

The central and eastern districts of Uttar Pradesh are also expected to receive rainfall today. In its advisory, the IMD stated that rain and thunderstorms are likely in multiple regions such as Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj, and Gorakhpur. It stated that winds of up to 30 to 50 km/h and lightning are also expected during this period.

Apart from this, a yellow alert for heavy rain has been issued for at least 15 districts of Bihar. The weather department stated that rain and thundershowers are likely in the Seemanchal region and plains, including East and West Champaran, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Buxar, Bhojpur, and Rohtas.

The meteorological department has also issued a rain alert in other states, including Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu.
