India has thousands of trains running every day, but one particular Rajdhani Express is famous for something few passengers expect: it covers a massive stretch of over 500 kilometres without pausing at a single station.
The train in question is the Thiruvananthapuram-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express, a premium long-distance service linking Kerala with the national capital. What makes it unique is a remarkable section of the journey where the train runs continuously between Rajasthan’s Kota and Gujarat’s Vadodara, without any scheduled halt.

The uninterrupted run of the train lasts around 7 hours, which covers approximately 528 km. Many travellers have expressed shock at finding that no station halt is available during this extended run of nearly 7 hours, which is hardly seen anywhere in the country.
During the course of the journey, while connecting Kerala and New Delhi, the Rajdhani traverses through various states and, just like other trains of its category, gets operational priority on account of its quick movements. Due to the priority, the train runs at faster average speeds across vast distances.
Operating a train without a stop across long distances like this in Indian railways isn't an easy task. Indian Railways has to make arrangements to control various issues, such as the traffic of the remaining trains and freight across various railway divisions. Because of these difficulties, such types of non-stop running remain extremely rare in India.
