Jagran Correspondent, Noida: A 28-year-old man died after allegedly falling into a drain while crossing a loose slab during heavy rainfall. The incident occurred when the victim stepped on a loose drain slab, causing it to give way and trap him.
Following the incident, the deceased's uncle filed a complaint at the Sector 58 police station, demanding strict action against the Noida Development Authority and the Electricity Department.
28-Year-Old Man Dies After Falling Into Drain In Noida's Sector 58
A 28-year-old man, identified as Aryan, died after falling into a drain in Noida's Sector 58 on Thursday morning. The incident occurred around 9 AM while Aryan, a resident of Chaura Village in Sector 22, was on his way to his factory.
According to a report by Jagran.com, the road was heavily flooded due to rainfall. As Aryan attempted to cross a section covered by drain slabs, one of the slabs, which was not properly installed, gave way, causing him to fall into the drain and drown.
Cause Of Death Remains Unknown
Aryan's colleague, Neeraj, stated that the drain where the incident occured us only two and a half to three feet deep, adding that there is an electric pole right next to it. Neeraj suggested that the victim may have been electrocuted by the rainwater before drowning.
However, police officials stated that the post-mortem report did not reveal the exact cause of the death, and the viscera have been preserved for further investigation.
Aryan Was The Sole Breadwinner Of Family
Aryan had been working for the past two and a half years as a quality supervisor at Lento Industries, an inverter manufacturing company located at A-27, Sector 58. After completing Polytechnic, he pursued a B.Tech degree and had recently received his final results.
Aryan was originally from the Ganga Darwaza neighbourhood in the Qaimganj tehsil of the Farrukhabad district. He is survived by his mother, for whom he was the sole breadwinner after his father died of an illness several years ago.
Family Files FIR Against Noida Authority And Electricity Department
Following the incident, the family of the deceased expressed anger over the alleged negligence of the Noida Authority and the Electricity Department. The victim's uncle, Anmol, filed an FIR against both departments at the Sector 58 police station. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
