Jagran Correspondent, Greater Noida: Commercial flights began from Noida International Airport on Monday with inauguartion being done by Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu. IndiGo's inaugural flight from Lucknow's Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport landed on the Noida International Airport runway at 8:05 am.

About Noida Airport

The airport is located along the Yamuna Expressway and will also offer dedicated taxi services, cab partners, and e-buses. The newly made airport has a 3,900-meter-long runway and a massive multi-level terminal (1,37,000 square metre). It is also being developed as a major multimodal cargo hub, potentially reducing the burden on Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI).

Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana, Chief Secretary SP Goyal, 75 business families, and other passengers arrived at Noida Airport on the inaugural flight. The Speaker of the State Assembly, the Chief Secretary, along with MPs, MLAs, and other officials are also present at the important event at the airport.

To make the program memorable, officials from Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Airports Authority of India also participated.

Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YAPL) and NIAL officials have been preparing for the launch of commercial services from the airport for several days. On the first day, IndiGo Airlines will operate a total of eight flights, including two special ones, from Noida Airport.

Special Flight To Depart With 160 Farmers

A special flight will depart from Noida for Lucknow at 8:30 am. This flight will carry 160 farmers, along with the Jewar MLA and officials from Noida International Airport Ltd.

The flight will arrive in Lucknow at 9:20 am, where farmers will interact with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and express their gratitude for the airport. The return flight will depart from Lucknow at 2:30 pm and land at Noida Airport at 3:30 pm.

Flights To Operate To THESE Cities

There will also be flights from Noida Airport to Bengaluru, Lucknow, Hyderabad and Amritsar. Apart from this, Akasa Air and Air India Express will also begin services in the upcoming weeks.
