Jagran Correspondent | Rae Bareli: To ease festive travel rushes, Northern Railway has announced three special train services passing through Rae Bareli, connecting Uttar Pradesh with Delhi, Punjab, Bihar, and Chandigarh.

Diwali is expected to be celebrated on November 8th this year. Several people travel to their home from other cities during the festival and then return. Consequently, regular trains are likely to be crowded.

What are the special trains

To accommodate the anticipated festive rush, the Railways has introduced additional services. Traffic Inspector Rajesh Kumar confirmed that a special train will operate between Varanasi and Delhi from October 2nd to November 28th.

The train between Firozpur and Patna will run from October 6 to November 24. A special train between Varanasi and Chandigarh will operate from October 1 to November 30. All three trains will pass through Rae Bareli station.

The traffic inspector stated that the route charts for all three special trains have arrived. These trains are being operated for the convenience of passengers and to cope with the additional passenger load during the festival season. The special trains are expected to ease the congestion on regular trains and provide convenience to passengers.

The North Central Railway administration has decided to extend the operating period of several major special trains.

As per the decision, special trains running on Barauni, Darbhanga, Gwalior, Hubli and Yeshwantpur routes will continue to operate as per their predetermined timetable, stoppages, route and coach composition, which will provide smooth travel and confirmed tickets to lakhs of passengers travelling during the festive season.
