Odisha Rape-Murder Case: Tension prevailed in Baligaon under Chandbali Police Station limits, in Odisha's Bhadrak district, after a minor girl was raped and murdered. The locals staged protest by blockading road on Tuesday night.

According to police, a 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped and killed in the Bhadrak district, triggering a demonstration by locals.

Blood-Soaked Body Found In Bush

The girl's blood-soaked body was spotted near a bush in Baligaon on Tuesday evening. Police said the incident came to light when some people found the body of the minor girl and they informed the the victim's family.

The girl's family lodged a complaint, in which they alleging that she was raped and murdered.

Protest On Road

Furious over the incident, locals and relatives of the deceased gathered on a road and blockaded it on Tuesday night, demanding justice. The protesters demanded the immediate arrest of those involved in the crime.

"The girl's father complained that his daughter had been missing since Tuesday evening. He also alleged that the girl was raped and murdered, and those involved in the crime dumped the body in the bush. We are investigating the incident. Prima facie, it seems to be a case of sexual assault and murder," the police officer said.

Police said the situation is the village is under control and a team of armed forces deployed to ensure the law and order.

SDPO Trilochan Sethi, Chandbali Tahasildar, and Chandbali Police Station Inspector-in-Charge Paresh Mohanty have been camping there, and one platoon of the armed police force has been deployed, said the police.
