Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust has formed a three-member committee to interview, identify and submit the names of potential Chief Executive Officers (CEO) for their final selection.
The decision was taken at the trust meeting at the Ram mandir complex in Ayodhya on Monday. The trust has also accepted the resignations of temple general secretary Champat Rai and member Anil Mishra.
Who are the three members?
The temple trust has appointed Suresh Hawade, retired judge Pramod Kohli and Lieutenant General (Retd.) Vishnukant Chaturvedi as members of the panel.
Hawade is a former NIT Raipur chairman and has 10 years of experience managing temple affairs at Shirdi Sai Baba Temple.
Lt Gen Chaturvedi currently serves as the All India Chairman of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's Ex-Sainik Service Council.
The temple trust has also expressed faith in the ongoing SIT probe into the matter. The formation of the panel was decided after the SIT had recommended independent expert consultation to establish an ideal, efficient, and transparent system for temple management.
Next meeting on July 22
The next meeting of the Trust will be held on July 22. At the meeting on July 6, the Trust also released a detailed financial breakdown of the offerings and donations received at the temple. According to the Trust, a total of Rs 3,264 crore has been received so far through the Nidhi Samarpan Abhiyan and other sources. Of this, Rs 2,370 crore has been spent on temple construction and other capital works.
So far, eight people have been arrested for the alleged embezzlement of the donations at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. The trust has also appointed trust member Krishna Mohan as an interim general secretary until the overhaul is completed. Mohan was the first to file an FIR in the matter on June 25.
