Vijay's political factor, coupled with his fan base, managed to pull a strong crowd to his rallies. The majority of pollsters suggest that the DMK is likely to retain power. However, some others predicted a tough fight, leading to a potential victory of TVK or AIADMK-led NDA.

Key constituencies in the state are Alandur, Alangudi, Alangulam, Ambasamudram, assembly seats in Chennai and Coimbatore, Tiruchirapalli East, Kolathur, and Perambur, Edappadi, Bodinayakkanur, and Sattur. To form the government, a party or an alliance needs to win at least 118 seats, a 50 per cent majority.
