Train Cancellations: North India continues to reel under harsh winter conditions, with dense fog severely disrupting daily life. Poor visibility, particularly during early morning and night hours, has dropped to near zero in many areas, significantly affecting rail operations across several states, including the Delhi-NCR region. As a result, crores of passengers are facing train delays on a daily basis.

The persistent fog has had a direct impact on train services. In response, Indian Railways has taken precautionary measures by cancelling several key trains operating towards Bihar, West Bengal and Punjab. Some of these services have been suspended until 28 February, while others will remain cancelled until the first week of March. Passengers planning to travel during this period are urged to stay informed about these changes.

Several major routes have been affected, including busy corridors connecting Patna, Howrah, Amritsar and Anand Vihar. The cancellations are expected to disrupt the travel plans of thousands of passengers, with those travelling to Bihar and West Bengal facing greater inconvenience due to the high number of long-distance trains on these routes.

Railway authorities have stated that the decision has been taken purely in the interest of passenger safety amid low visibility conditions. Passengers are advised to check live train status, cancellation notices and revised timetables before heading to railway stations to avoid any last-minute inconvenience.
