In the latest developments in the Twisha Sharma death case, the Central Bureau of Investigation has uncovered some fresh details after interrogating the prime accused, Samarth Singh, the victim's husband.
The investigation team has questioned Singh about his whereabouts while he was on the run. Samarth told the officials that he stayed in Bhopal two days after Twisha's death and left for Jabalpur, where he lived till May 22. Then he surrendered in a local court.
Who Will Be Questioned?
The new details that emerged in the case have prompted the investigation team to trace the people who have helped Singh while he was on the run. CBI officials are now examining who provided him accommodation, transport, or any other logistical support in Bhopal and Jabalpur. Samarth did not share any further details with the team during questioning.

The CBI, as part of their investigation, will also interrogate the doctors and psychiatrists who treated Twisha. The victim's mother-in-law Giribala Singh had claimed that Twisha consumed drugs in large quantities. The former district judge alleged that drug consumption was one of the reasons that the medical professional had approved a Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) procedure. The CBI is going to verify the claims of accused Giribala and assess whether they are supported by medical records and professional assessments.
Officials are also expected to cross-check medical documents and witness statements as part of efforts to reconstruct the circumstances leading up to Twisha's death.
The dowry death case was recently taken over by the CBI when the MP police filed an FIR against Twisha's husband and mother-in-law. A local court subsequently remanded him to police custody for seven days.
What Did Twisha's Family Allege?
Twisha Sharma's family alleged that her in-laws demanded dowry after her marriage on December 9, 2025. The victim's family said that her husband and mother-in-law abused her mentally and physically, claiming the treatment forced her to take such an extreme step.
Last week, the CBI arrested former district judge Giribala Singh a day after the Madhya Pradesh High Court set aside her anticipatory bail. Officials have indicated that officials plan to confront the mother-son duo with each other's statements as they attempt to establish the sequence of events that culminated in Twisha's death.
Twisha's family has also accused Giribala Singh of tampering with the evidence after getting bail. They have claimed that while police seized CCTV footage from the family's residence on May 13, selected clips were later circulated on social media in an alleged attempt to influence the course of the investigation.
