Tarana Violence: The security has been heightened in the Tarana area of Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain after a fresh round of violence took place in the city on Friday. Yesterday, several buses and shops were vandalised, following an attack on a Bajrang Dal member. A bus was torched, and several shops were attacked in the city after Friday's prayer.
People gathered on the road after Friday's prayers. Later, they resorted to violent protests, escalating tension in the city.

On miscreants setting a bus on fire at the Tarana bus stand, Bus owner Arif said, “We don’t know whose dispute it was. We don’t understand why we are being targeted. Two to three buses were set on fire at night, and even a tractor was torched. Today we received a call informing us that another bus has also been set on fire.”
What Police Said On The Incident
SP Pradeep Sharma said around 7:00 or 7:30 in the evening on Thursday in Tarana, a youth named Sohel Thakur was attacked by several individuals, causing a head injury. He was quickly taken to the hospital and later referred to Ujjain, Sharma said, adding that his condition remains stable, and a police team has been coordinating with hospital doctors.
Based on his statement, a case has been filed against approximately six people for attempted murder.
"The situation in Tarana is currently under control. We have deployed a large force, including police personnel, drones, and additional CCTV cameras. Our team will continue working throughout the night to catch the suspects, who will be arrested soon, and strict action will be taken against them. The police are doing their job regarding the dispute between the two parties. We are in contact with both sides," he said on the current situation in the city.
Victim Tells Why Was He Attacked
Thakur claimed that he was sitting outside the Sangh office at a hotel when 10-15 boys approached him. "They directly hit me on the forehead with a rod, causing me to become dizzy and faint. My brothers ran over. Seeing them, they fled. They targeted me because I was previously involved in cases related to 'love jihad' and because of the Vasant Panchami program the day before. Their plan to kill me, making me their specific target. These individuals are involved in illegal activities, including selling marijuana, MDMA, and cow smuggling."
