BJP Working President Nitin Nabin is set to become the party’s 12th and youngest national president on Tuesday. He stated that only BJP can make a common party worker its president, adding that he will work to strengthen the party's organisation. While the party's top brass has decided to promote the young generation of the party, Nabin's tenure is likely to be full of challenges. The BJP currently rules the centre and most number of states; however, the party is yet to win several key states, including West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. Nabin is known for his organisational skills and has actively worked in assembly elections in states like Chhattisgarh and Bihar.
West Bengal
The first major challenge under the leadership of Nitin Nabin will be the Assembly election of West Bengal. The saffron party successfully managed to become the major opposition party in the last election. However, the saffron party still could not win 100 seats, and the gap of vote percentage between TMC and BJP was over 5 per cent. The BJP will try to form its government for the first time in Bengal.
Tamil Nadu
The BJP will try to dethrone the DMK government in Tamil Nadu by contesting in an alliance with AIADMK. However, the party faces several challenges in the southern states, including weak organisation and lack of strong regional faces.
Kerala
The saffron party has not registered victory in the southern state yet; however, its vote share has improved in the past few years. Under the leadership of Nabin, the BJP will try to cross the barrier of 10 per cent vote share.

While the BJP would try to make a comeback in Karnataka in the next state election, it would also contest for its government in Bengal and Tamil Nadu for the first time.
