Republic Day Security Alert: Acting on confidential intelligence inputs, police conducted a raid at a house in the Fatehpur Chaupala area under the local police station limits and recovered banned explosives.

The seized material included prohibited white powder that had been illegally stockpiled. The main accused, a resident of Farukhnagar in Ghaziabad, has been arrested.

According to police, the suspect had rented the house just 20 days ago. Investigations are underway to trace his other associates, and the search operation has been intensified.

Police Launches Operation Verification

Under the ongoing 'Operation Verification' campaign for thorough verification of tenants and tracking of suspects, the Babu Garh police station team recovered a large quantity of explosive material from a house.

The police team also seized manufactured and semi-manufactured candles worth lakhs of rupees.

Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Munish Pratap Singh informed that on Monday night, as part of 'Operation Verification', the police team, along with him, reached village Fatehpur in Kuchesar Chaupala to check new tenants. Confidential information was received that illegal candles used in firecrackers were being manufactured in the house of Rahul Khatik.

Acting on the tip-off, the police team reached the spot. The police arrested Nadeem, a resident of village Farukhnagar under Teela Mod police station in Ghaziabad district, from the spot.

The SHO further stated that this dry cotton white powder is used in making candles for weddings. It is a highly explosive substance and can only be stored in limited quantities with a valid licence. No permission was obtained for its manufacturing or storage at the spot.

An investigation is underway to determine from where this powder was sourced. A case has been registered against the accused and he has been arrested.
