Khan Sir Institute Row: The Bihar Police on Wednesday detained a teacher, Roshan Anand, in connection with the stone-pelting and vandalism outside Khan Sir's coaching institute (Khan Global Studies) in Patna. Two of his associates, Abhishek and Gaurav, were also detained.
According to police, some people threw bricks and stones and vandalised the complex outside Khan Global Studies, which falls under the Kadamkuan police station area, on Tuesday night. After investigating the matter, police identified attackers linked to the Gyan Bindu Coaching, situated in the same locality. Following his detention, Roshan is in the news.
Who Is Roshan Anand?
Roshan Anand has emerged from a small village in Bihar and has established himself as one of the most renowned teachers in Patna. He was born in Dhamsena village in Saharsa district. His family was involved in farming and was not financially strong. Since childhood, Roshan studied with limited resources and completed his early education in a government school. Roshan had a unique approach to education, which led him to make his own decisions regarding his studies. He began making important decisions about his future at an early age.
Left Home At The Age Of 15
Roshan left home at the age of 15 and moved to Patna to pursue a career and study. There, he began preparing for engineering entrance exams. Later, he went to Kota and performed well in the AIEEE exam. Roshan secured admission to BIT Mesra Engineering. However, due to financial challenges and other circumstances, he was unable to complete his engineering degree. He had to leave his studies midway.
Roshan then began preparing for a government job, but did not succeed. In 2014, he passed the Bihar Police written exam but failed to clear the physical test. He also appeared for the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) interview, but failed to make the final selection list.
Started Coaching While Preparing For Govt Job
While preparing for competitive exams, Roshan began coaching and teaching children. In the early days, he lacked resources and would accept food from students in place of fees. Later, he realised that teaching children was where he would find his future.
Started Gyan Bindu GS Academy In 2017
Roshan launched Gyan Bindu GS Academy on September 1, 2017, at a very small level, with just four students. Later, his coaching grew and became one of the best coaching institutes in Bihar.
What's The Controversy?
He is allegedly involved in a dispute with his rival, Khan Sir. Police detained him to enquire his role in the attack at Khan Sir's institute. CCTV footage of the incident that occurred on Tuesday night revealed that individuals associated with Roshan's coaching institute were involved in the stone-pelting and vandalism.
Patna Town DSP Rajesh Ranjan said the preliminary investigation suggests it was a rivalry between the two coaching institutes.
"A guard of the coaching institute named Chunchun was beaten and he sustained head injuries. He was admitted to PMCH. The management of Khan Coaching has filed an FIR naming four people and several others in Kadam Kuan Police Station. Earlier, information was received regarding firing; however, upon investigation and scanning CCTV footage, none of the attackers was seen carrying any firearms. The complaint filed by the coaching institute also has no mention of firing. Further investigation is underway," he added.
