The Ranchi Municipal Corporation has adopted a strict stance against wires and optical fibre installed on electricity poles without permission. The corporation has instructed all cable operators and associated agencies to submit their authorisation documents within 7 days. Failure to comply will result in the confiscation and removal of all unauthorised wires, for which the respective agency will be held responsible.

The Ranchi Municipal Corporation has taken seriously the growing problem of unauthorised wires and optical fibres installed on electricity poles across the city. According to the Corporation, agencies have installed their own wires and optical fibres in many places, which is not only causing problems due to dangling wires, but an increase in the number of road accidents is also being seen. In light of this problem, the Municipal Corporation has issued strict instructions to all cable operators and relevant agencies.

7-Day Deadline For Permits And Confiscation Warning

The Corporation has stated that it is mandatory for all agencies to submit the permits and documents for their wires and fibres, obtained from the competent authority, to the Corporation's office within 7 days. The Municipal Corporation has clarified that if the necessary documents are not submitted within the specified time limit, all unauthorised wires and optical fibres on electricity poles will be removed and confiscated by the Corporation. The full responsibility for this action will lie with the owner of the respective agency.

Public Safety Risks And Affected Areas

Across the city's squares, main roads, and arterial roads, cable and optical fibre wires are dangling from electricity poles, marring the city's beauty. These wires are also scattered on the city's roads, causing daily accidents for passers-by. In many areas of the city, including Purulia Road, Main Road, Hinoo, Chutia, Kusai Colony, Kokar, and Bariatu, people are troubled by the cable wires. Many people are troubled by these dangling wires.
