Android Emergency Live Video: We all have been stuck in an emergency at one time or another, and most of us might even feel startled and confused when we end up in a situation like this. Be it a medical emergency or car crash, it becomes difficult for us to lay down our words properly and give a proper explanation, but there is something Google is doing that can help you in such situations a lot better, although there is a catch.

Google is now introducing a feature for Android users that can help you explain your situation during times of emergency with ease; the company is calling it Emergency Live Video. This new feature, Emergency Live Video for Android, now lets dispatchers request a live video stream from your phone during an emergency call or text. With one tap, you can share real-time footage so responders instantly see what’s happening and guide you through urgent steps like CPR while help arrives.
The feature doesn’t require any app download or setup. If a dispatcher decides video can help, they send a request to your device. You’ll get a clear on-screen prompt, and it’s entirely your choice to start streaming. The feed is encrypted, and you can stop it anytime with a single tap.
Availability is still limited. Google has rolled it out in the US, along with select regions in Germany and Mexico. It works on Android phones running Android 8 or later with Google Play services, with wider expansion planned.

“Android Emergency Live Video builds on our work to make it easier to get help and provide users peace of mind through features like Emergency Location Service, Car Crash and Fall Detection, and Satellite SOS,” Google says.
