Xiaomi appears ready to kick off 2026 with one of its most important mid-range launches. The company has confirmed that the Redmi Note 15 series is headed to India soon, although the exact date remains under wraps. Industry chatter suggests an early January debut, positioning it as one of the first major smartphone arrivals of the year. A teaser shared by Redmi India highlights the Redmi Note 15 5G 108-megapixel MasterPixel Edition, which is expected to be the base model in the upcoming lineup.

Slimmer Design and Early Launch Window

The teaser, posted on the brand’s X account, focuses on the slim profile of the smartphone. Xiaomi appears to be making sleekness a central part of its push this year, and this design angle is likely to be a major marketing focus. Tipsters indicate that January 6, 2026, is the potential launch date for the standard Note 15, with the Note 15 Pro and Note 15 Pro Plus following shortly after.

Display And Durability Upgrades

The Redmi Note 15 is expected to feature a 6.77-inch Full HD Plus AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. An in-display fingerprint scanner is also likely, marking a first for the Indian Redmi Note lineup. Durability is shaping up to be another standout change. While the Chinese variant offered an IP65 rating, leaks suggest the Indian model could step up to IP68 protection, letting it survive submersion in up to 1.5 metres of water for 30 minutes. This would be a significant upgrade over last year’s Redmi Note 14 with its IP64 rating.

MasterPixel Camera Improvements

The camera setup includes a confirmed 108-megapixel primary sensor supported by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. A 20-megapixel front camera is expected for selfies. Xiaomi’s MasterPixel branding points to strengthened computational photography, improved sharpness and better colour accuracy, especially in challenging lighting.

Performance And Software

The phone is expected to run on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, paired with HyperOS 2 based on Android 15. Xiaomi appears to be focusing heavily on stability and system optimisation rather than jumping directly to Android 16. Users can expect smoother transitions, improved multitasking performance and tighter ecosystem integration.

Battery And Charging

A 5520mAh battery is said to power the device, along with 45W fast charging. Xiaomi usually includes chargers in the box, so the same approach is expected here. The combination of battery size and charging speed positions the phone well for long daily use.

Expected Price

The Redmi Note 14 began at Rs 18,999, and despite global memory cost fluctuations, rumours suggest the Note 15 could arrive near the Rs 20,000 mark. With its upgraded display, strengthened durability, refined design and new camera hardware, the Redmi Note 15 is shaping up to deliver a strong start to Xiaomi’s 2026 lineup.
